Privacy policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
This policy explains what information ToolPlanet AI ("we", "us") handles when you use toolplanetai.com, and the choices you have. The short version: most tools never upload your files, and we don't ask you to create an account.
1. Your files stay on your device
Most tools on this website run entirely inside your web browser. This includes editing, merging, splitting, compressing, organising, rotating, cropping, redacting, signing, watermarking, page numbers, forms, compare, PDF/A, repair, password protect and unlock, and conversions to and from Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images, text and Markdown. When you use these tools, your files are not sent to our servers and we cannot see them.
2. AI tools
These tools need an AI model to work: AI Summarizer, Translate PDF, OCR PDF, Chat with PDF, Image to Text and Bank Statement to Excel. When you press the button in one of them, the text of your document (and, for OCR and image tools, images of the pages) is sent through our server to our AI provider, Anthropic, to produce the result. We do not keep a copy of your documents. Anthropic processes the data under its own commercial terms and privacy policy. Please don't use the AI tools for documents you're not allowed to share with a third-party service.
3. HTML to PDF from a web address
If you enter a web address in the HTML to PDF tool, our server fetches that public page and its images and styles so they can be turned into a PDF in your browser. We don't store the pages.
4. Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the website, keep it secure and prevent abuse. We may use privacy-friendly analytics to count visits. We don't sell personal information.
5. Cookies and advertising
We may show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised advertising in Google Ad Settings, and learn more in how Google uses data for ads. Where the law requires it (for example in the UK and EU), we will ask for your consent before using advertising cookies.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to its use, and to complain to a data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office). Because we don't ask you to create an account and don't store your files, we usually hold very little or no personal data about you. To make a request, email us.
7. Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
